2008 Tips
APRIL 2008
"When you close a door...you open a window to more space!"
If you want to know the next frontier in extra space, look no further than the back of your doors and cabinets. Bathroom doors can be used as an extra towel rack, or you can use a hanging toiletries bag to save counter & cabinet space. In the kitchen, you can store lids, cleaning products, spices, garbage bags, or even a garbage canister on the back of a cabinet door. A little creativity and a quick trip to an organization product store will give you more space and functionality. Check out our April on-line newsletter for my favorite space creating door products and storage tips. Open the door to more space for your clothing, shoes, jewelry, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, kitchenware, groceries, toiletries, art products, office supplies, gift wrap, travel supplies, grocery bags, and more!

"Spring into Spring"Don't let your clutter weigh you down this spring. Instead, set a limit for yourself when it comes to clutter prone household items, such as grocery bags, magazines, rags and towels. Decide in advance what a reasonable and necessary amount will be for you to keep at any given time. For example, one bucket of rags (not overflowing) is probably plenty. Set a limit and stick to it, you can always adjust it in time if you find you need more or less of something. Setting healthy limits will help keep the clutter away and put the "spring" back into your step!

"Change Your Perspective"When you are uncluttering a shelf, drawer, closet, bin, cupboard or nook, take everything out of the area and move it to a clear "work space." Getting this fresh start will help you to not feel overwhelmed and it will give you great clarity to see what you have, so you can decide what you need and want. Group similar things together, get rid of what you don't use, contain & label what's left and put it back into a designated "home."
A little PERSPECTIVE can go a long way!

"Keep Looking Up!"Vertical space is the least used space in your house. Maximize that space! Think perimeter shelving, floor to ceiling shelving, and hanging storage solutions for just about anything (pots, pans, shoes, bicycles, brooms & naughty children). When out of space, keep your head up and get creative!
